Celebrated Advertiser photographer and journalist Barry O’Brien will be the guest speaker at this week’s Gawler History Team meeting on September 4.
O’Brien, who has 46 years of experience and is a multi-award winner, covered many high profile cases for newspapers around Australia, including the Azaria Chamberlain inquest in Alice Springs and the trial of Lindy and Michael in Darwin.
He has written several sought-after books, is a freelance award-winning travel writer and travel photographer representing News Ltd, past chairman of the Trainers Association relating to horse training at Gawler Racecourse, and is a baseball life member.
O’Brien was 2012 Australian Society of Travel Writers Photographer of the Year and Travel writer of the year in 2007.
