Hit and run case

Police are calling on witnesses of a hit and run in Bonnyrigg Heights on Friday night to come forward. At 10.30pm, a 23-year-old man was standing near his car on Aplin Road when he was hit by a metallic pink car. Police said the car failed to stop and relatives of the man contacted emergency services. The man suffered fractures to both legs and a laceration to his head. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital to undergo surgery, where he remains in a stable condition. Police believe the car may be an early model Ford Falcon sedan.Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Fight at a disco

A man has been charged following a brawl at a hotel in Canley Vale last Friday night. At 11.50pm, a fight broke out between two groups of men at a disco in the hotel on Canley Vale Road. A man allegedly picked up a glass and threw it towards another man. He was then chased into the disco area before being assaulted by a number of men. On Saturday, Cabramatta detectives charged a 27-year-old man with affray and common assault. He will appear in Liverpool Local Court on September 24.
