Murray Group CWA members went on an imaginary bus ride to Botswana following a power point presentation by five students from Rand Public School.Around 30 members from the Murray Group of the CWA attended the Agriculture and Environment and International Day last week on in Holbrook at the CTC on Tuesday August 26.

Agriculture and Environment officer Rita Bowler organised the environmental side with Bushlinks officer Kylie Durant invited as the guest speaker.

While members were a mix of people who lived in town and people who lived on farms they all found the talk very informative.

Ms Durant spoke about the importance of tree corridors, the wedge tail eagle and the wilga tree which are a focus of study for the CWA.

She also spoke about the invasive weed, serrated tussock, and the importance of controlling it.

“It was thoroughly enjoyable and we all gained something from it,” member of the Murray Group Pat Brown said.

The Murray group includes branches from around the area including Holbrook, Little Billabong and Albury.
