THE dual life of high-flying Cleveland real estate agent Ryan McCann was exposed on Monday after drug raids across Cleveland to crack open a drug syndicate operating out of Redlands.
The drug busts followed a year-long investigation to crack open a Redlands-based methamphetamine drug ring.
McCann, accused of being a drug baron and charged with trafficking, supplying and possessing dangerous drugs, was detained for questioning and due to face court on Tuesday.
The raid was conducted simultaneously with five others across Cleveland and four other men were arrested for being implicated in the drug syndicate.
The four were served with notices to appear for seven drug-related charges.
McCann’s work colleagues at Cleveland LJ Hooker were dismayed and in shock but not implicated in any way.
McCann, one of the top 15 property salesman in the country, sold properties including mansions for seven years but police said he was living a dual life also selling drugs.
Last year, he sold more than $40 million of property and made it into the multi-million-dollar Captains Club, a lifetime membership bestowed on only 50 LJ Hooker agents.
Police raided the 36-year-old’s Raby Bay home and forensic search teams claimed sniffer dogs found packets of the drug “ice” stashed inside the walls, while dismantling his alleged drug den.
McCann was detained for questioning on Monday night and was due to appear in Wynnum Magistrates Court Tuesday to face 34 serious drug-related charges.
