Held on August 20, the annual Bonnyrigg Live concert and visual art exhibition showed that the talent well is deep at the school.

The art exhibition was held before the concert. Visitors were treated to a variety of works, including 2D art, post modern sculpture and multimedia presentations utilising photographic slideshows, games, videos and websites.

The exhibition, titled ARTemotion, mainly showcased the body of works of this year’s year 12 students, although there were some select items submitted by students from years seven to 10.

After taking in the art, the crowd of around 200, comprising students, teachers and members of the public, made their way into the school hall for two hours of instrumental solos, singing and a rock performance.

“We were absolutely thrilled with the attendance of students, parents and the general public,” said creative and performing arts head teacher Vicki Paton.

“It was great for Bonnyrigg because it is an opportunity to showcase finished year 12 HSC body of works.

“We chose the name ARTemotion because the emotions and feelings of the students are clearly evident within many of the artworks.”

The concert featured 22 performances, some of which included the teachers.

The participating year 12 students used the night as a practice run for the coming practical HSC exams.

A highlight of the night was when English teachers Claudio Acosta and Mary Jekki took to the stage to perform a rendition of Endless Love by Lionel Richie and Dianna Ross.

All money raised from tickets sold on the night will go towards funding new stage lights.
