MEANDER Valley residents willbowl for breast cancer supportnext month as Deloraine BowlsClub hosts its Pink Bowls Dayfund-raiser.
The Breast Cancer Network Australiaevent will include a minifield of women display in supportof the region’s breast cancer survivors.
An open invitation for the fund-raisingevent, which will include abarbecue lunch, has been extendedto the Deloraine community.
Pink bowls organisers Rita Eastleyand Meredith Wood said manymembers in the community knewsomeone impacted by breast cancer.
Ms Eastley and Ms Wood areencouraging bowlers, friends andbreast cancer survivors and supportersto attend the fun socialoccasion.
Tasmanian Breast Cancer Networkpresident Maureen Hollandwill also assist the club’s fund-raisingeffort.
‘‘Providing support for womenand familiesaffected by breast cancer is importantfor our local community,’’Ms Holland said.
‘‘This Pink Bowls Day is anexcellent opportunity for locals torally together and offer their supportto those affected – be it ourmates, our family or perfectstrangers. Every time a woman istold she has breast cancer, theimpact extends to her family,friends and those around her inthe community.’’
